"The Nutcracker" by Peter Tchaikovsky.

Based on Hoffman's "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King" this two-act classic ballet was performed during the Christmas season by the Kansas City Ballet.

This universally-known ballet was choreographed by Todd Bolender and involved twenty professional dancers and seven apprentices, not including many children from the local ballet schools. Because all of the dancers have different skill levels, the choreographer introduces them from scene to scene in order of skill, keeping unity in the performance.
